Security Analyst/ Engineer

Position: Information Security Analyst

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

·         Identifies potential information and network security vulnerabilities for a Federal contract

·         Develops and implements solutions to mitigate risks and enhance system security

·         Analyzes and resolves data, application, computer, and network security problems and issues

·         Investigates and recommends security technologies including firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection, VPN, scanning tools and managed security services

·         Ensure that system security requirements are addressed throughout the system life-cycle.

Knowledge Qualifications

• Familiarity with FISMA and NIST SP 800 documentation.
• Familiarity with web application security concepts (XSS, SQL injection etc)
• Strong MS windows and/or Unix skills
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (eg nessus, shadow scanner etc)

The applicant must have working knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools (such as nessus) and be able to analyze tool output for false positives as well as provide recommendations for remediation of actual identified vulnerabilities.  Applicant should be able to apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.  The applicant will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.  The applicant must exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.  Additionally, the applicant must be able to build productive internal/external working relationships.

Position requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
