JOB DESCRIPTION

The Software Quality Assurance Test function is responsible for developing test plans, procedures, and test scripts, following SEI CMMi standards, for all software to be tested and implemented. Other responsibilities include executing test scripts and reviewing all test results to verify the application tes as designed, providing accurate estimates and reporting of test progress.

• Ability to automate testing using IBM Rational Robot.
• Demonstrates the ability to analyze a problem and complete detailed reports.
• Able to methodically produce the steps which exhibit defects in the product and be able to reproduce and communicate these steps.
• Shows initiative in gaining in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to testing of company products.
• Has excellent problem solving skills and a proven ability to use own initiative.
• Works well in a team environment and alone.
• Has ability to adapt to the changing needs of a project.
• Has ability to work in a fast paced environment, multitask, and meet deadlines.
• Has strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.

Expectations

• Review and understand functional requirements and design documents to develop formal test specifications and test scripts.
• Determine test data requirements and gather, manipulate and maintain that data to ensure a stable test environment for the testing.
• Attend requirements and design project meetings with various stakeholders to gather information for testing effort and to fully understand the scope of the project.
• Execute a series of tests to include: functional, non-functional, usability, regression, smoke testing, and black box.
• Provide feedback and communicate effectively with the development and analyst team’s regarding issues, defects, questions and suggestions that arise during testing to ensure that issues are resolved.
• Maintain and develop knowledge of current organization processes and procedures.
• Provide individual/group status to leads and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in testing computer software

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Related Technology Field

Preferred

• Experience and Knowledge of Rational Test tools suite
• Experience with automated testing tools
• Experience in ALPHA/VMS/DCL or MVS/JCL
• Experience in relational database like SQL Server
• Experience in testing JAVA rich client applications, Web based applications, and ETL
• Knowledge of Section 508 standards and testing validation/verification
• Experience with RDBMS and working knowledge of SQL
• Experience with data migration, validation, and integrity testing
